Assessment and Development of Leadership and Management Skills

There are a variety of ways in which Assessment is applied in organisations and we help our clients in the following areas:

Individual Assessment

When you want to identify the leadership and management skills and ability of an individual in your organisation (perhaps for promotion, or for a key role) we can put together a short, intensive assessment process which will give you an insight into how that person will approach the new opportunity in a way that a mere interview cannot.   This can often form the basis for development once the new role has been established.

Assessment Centres

At times you may need information about a group of managers or specialists, perhaps in order to decide who may be eligible for new roles in a specific timeframe.   We design practical assessment programmes that give both the participants and the organisation that information.

We work to put together a design that reflects both the characteristics of the role being assessed for and the group being assessed, so that the results are truly meaningful for all the participants. We also provide skilled and experienced assessors who can work with managers from within your organisation to establish a clear and straightforward feedback process.

Development Centres

Assessment approaches can also be used to identify people's development needs, but require a very different design and implementation to be effective.

Too often the lines between assessment and development are blurred, resulting in confusion and cynicism.   We offer our expertise in helping our clients to ensure that the processes are independent of one another and that participants are crystal clear about what process they are going through.

In all cases we can provide (and recommend) follow up feedback and coaching with perhaps further development and training programmes for participants to enable them to get the most out of the process.
